Paycheck Fairness Act

AAUW was very instrumental in getting the Fair Wage Act passed in 1963. John F. Kennedy signed it on June 10th, 46 years ago. Now it is time to get the Paycheck Fairness Act passed by the Senate. The House has already passed it. The Paycheck Fairness Act will strengthen the Equal Pay Act by taking meaningful steps to empower women to negotiate for equal pay, to create strong incentives for employers to follow the law, and to strengthen federal outreach and enforcement efforts.
