This year we are so excited to be able to send 4 girls to University of California--San Diego (UCSD) for Tech Trek! Thank you branch members, Altura Credit Union, and the Riverside Youth Scholarship Foundation for your generous donations to make this possible.
This year we had 89 teacher recommendations from 5 of the 6 middle schools in the Riverside Unified School District. Of those, a whopping 30 girls returned their applications with an essay! Ted Dyer and her committee interviewed half that number and decided on our 4 recipients. This year we are sending:
Keshae Bellamy from University Middle Heights
Jacqueline Bywater from Gage
Sarah Jenkins from Gage
Dominique McDonald from Chemawa
Camp is from July 12-18. I will be meeting with the girls before they go, and I always invite past Tech Trekkers to attend too.
This year our first Tech Trek girls are graduating from high school. I have sent them graduation cards from the branch and have asked them to drop me a note letting me know what they are doing next. I’ll let you all know when I hear from them. Again, thank you so much for your support!

A very big thanks to Lisa, Ted and their committee for a job well done, I can't wait to meet the girls in the Fall when they return and tell us about their experiences.
Lisa and Ted,
Thank you for a job well done. I am so pleased that the Branch is able to send four girls this time.
Waiting to hear how they are doing.
